WELCOME

The School of the Spirit Ministry serves all those who wish to be more faithful listeners and responders to the work of the Inward Teacher. The ministry is grounded in prayer and offers programs rooted in the Quaker contemplative tradition of the living silence. Read our Core Characteristics.

The place of prayer is a precious habitation … I saw this habitation
to be safe, to be inwardly quiet, when there was
great stirrings and commotions in the world.
– John Woolman (1770)

The School of the Spirit’s concern is with preparation for ministry through
a deepening personal awareness of the inward presence of Spirit.
It is crucially important to encourage the growth of this kind of ministry.

  1. I am having trouble with the Application Cover Sheet and the Application. Instructions say your preference in filing applications on line, but I cannot figure out how to make that work.
The only thing I can figure out is to compose a word document and attach it to an email, but that is not an online application.

    1. I’m sorry the webpage was out of date. We’ve made some serious changes/corrections/updates. Now you should be able to find everything you were looking for.

    1. Kevin, Thanks for your interest. At this point, we don’t have a retreat scheduled in NC this year, but I’m hoping that changes. I’ll let you know if it does, and I’ll let you know if one happens in 2019.
